Aligners Maintainance Protocol


Aligners are the new age aesthetic orthodontic treatment method that uses incremental transparent thermoformed trays to move teeth.

Please read and understand the following guidelines carefully –

Wear protocol –

Patient is advised that aligners should be worn for around 22 hours a day (including night time) to reach the desired maximum effectiveness and should only be removed during eating or brushing.

Each aligner set should be worn for at least 2 weeks / 10 Days / 2 Weeks, before moving to the next aligner set and should be worn in the specified sequence.

Oral hygiene protocol –

Patient must remove their aligners before eating food and drinking hot or aerated beverages as it may damage or discolour the aligners.

Patient should maintain their oral hygiene by proper brushing and other adjunct measures (mouthwash, floss etc.)

Aligner cleaning protocol –

Proper cleaning of aligners is advised with toothbrush and toothpaste/soap under tap water.

Use of Chewies& Retrieval tool –

Chewies must be used for proper sitting of aligners onto the teeth once or twice daily especially during initial days of wearing a new aligner set.

Retrieval tool may be used for easy removal of aligners from the mouth.

Storage protocol –

Aligners must be stored in the aligner case only when removed from mouth.

Do not immerse your aligners in hot water or denture cleansers.
